Sherwood Eliot Wirt, known to most of us as "Woody", the founder of our Guild, went home to be with the Lord in the early morning of November 8, 2008. His wife, Ruth, called to tell us that he "slipped away in his sleep." We will always be grateful to Woody for his friendship and the many things he taught us! After 97 years on earth, he is with the Lord!

Nov. 10: Marcia Ramsland, Sally John, and Susan Meissner: Signing and Workshop: Where: Berean Christian Bookstore. When: Monday, Nov. 10 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. “Christmas Shopping in the Bag” will feature mini-presentations by these four, multi-published authors. At 5 p.m. Sally John and Susan Meissner will present “Twelve Great Fiction Titles to Give the Fiction Lover on Your Christmas List.” At 6 p.m., Marcia Ramsland will present “Five Key Ways to De-Stress Your Holidays.” There will be gift basket giveaways and yummy refreshments. Give books this Christmas! Come to Berean on Nov. 10! Berean is located at 8807 Clairemont Mesa Blvd in Kearny Mesa.

Nov. 16: Rebecca Farnbach: Signing: "Images of America: Murrieta Hot Springs", featuring photographs and captions telling the history of the Murrieta Hot Springs Resort, now the Calvary Christian Conference Center and Bible College. When: Sunday, Nov. 16 between 2 - 5 pm for fellowship, refreshments, and a tour of the facility. We will recreate some of the photograph settings with vintage cars. Copies of will be available for purchase. The book will
be released on Nov. 10.

Dec. 6 & 7: David & Lisa Frisbie: Signing: Where: North Coast Church Bookstore. What: The hometown premiere of the Frisbie's new book "The Soul-Mate Marriage: The Spiritual Journey of Becoming One". When: Saturday and Sunday, December 6 and 7, at the North Coast Church Bookstore, 1132 N. Melrose, Vista, CA. North Coast is located just north of Highway 78 on Melrose. (Event Hours: 5 PM to 7:30 PM both Saturday and Sunday, plus 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM Sunday) "Soul-Mate" was written in connection with the movie "FireProof".
