2009 Awards

On Friday, September 25, 2009 the Guild presented the awards for the best writing by our members in 2008 at the Friday night awards and roundtable event prior to our Fall conference.

The Sherwood Wirt Writer of the Year Award went to Lynn Vincent for her years of service to the Guild and her 2008 book Never Surrender: A Soldier's Journey to the Crossroads of Faith and Freedom, a book she wrote with General Jerry Boykin.

The Nancy Bayless Award went to Joanne Bischof for her novel Cry of My Heart.

Bob Hamer won Best Non-Fiction book for The Last Undercover: The True Story of an FBI Agent's Dangerous Dance with Evil.  Susan Meissner won Best Fiction book for The Shape of Mercy.

Best Poetry: Peter Lundell for Christ Come Down.

Honorable Mentions in Periodical Writing went to Laurie Alloway and Kelly Bell.
Honorable Mention (Poetry) went to Rebecca Farnbach for Dancing Louisa.
